On Sunday, May 29, 2016, from 1 to 4 pm please join us to celebrate and clean up our historic and unique Niska Road cultural heritage landscape. The City of Guelph is generously supporting our initiative by supplying bags, gloves and safety vests for all participants. The city will be closing Niska at Downey and at at Wellington 124 and Whitelaw to local traffic from 1-5 pm to safely facilitate the clean up.
After or during the clean up there is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy nature, listen to the sounds of the river and to view the most historic section of the Speed River from our Bailey Bridge without traffic noise. You may also want to take a walk on the 40-year-old Speed River Trail on the north-west side of the Speed River.
Meet at the corner of Ptarmigan Rd and Niska Rd. (There is a transit stop right at Niska and Ptarmigan.) Please come out and help in the clean up, meet people, learn the history of our area and enjoy some treats, prizes and good conversation. You could win Guelph Storm tickets and other great gifts generously donated by local merchants. Please bring you own water bottle. Hope to see there!
